A Note to Teachers and Educators
The Dual Fuel Rebuild is ultimately a testament to the power of education.
I didn’t lose 150+ pounds because I discovered a secret diet. I lost 150 pounds because I approached a complex problem the same way educators solve problems every day: I researched the topic, organized the data, identified the foundational concepts, built a logical learning progression, and structured a curriculum that could be mastered one lesson at a time.
What began as a personal project to reclaim my health eventually evolved into an educational framework to teach my family and my community. The exact skill sets we use every day in classrooms, coaching, campus leadership, and curriculum design proved to be the ultimate weapons when applied to obesity, behavioral psychology, and long-term metabolic health.
You may notice that the 8 phases of this curriculum fit perfectly into the timeline of a standard school year. That is not an accident; that is exactly how my brain has been programmed to think. As educators, our lives are measured in semesters, quarters, and grading periods. By mapping metabolic restoration onto that exact familiar cadence, the insurmountable mountain of lifelong health change becomes a manageable academic calendar. In the span of a single school year, a person can completely transform their health.
As educators, we frequently underestimate the value of our training because it is our default setting. But the ability to organize complexity, engineer clarity, construct sustainable systems, and guide human behavior is a rare and formidable skill. True education is the most permanent tool for solving difficult problems because it rejects compliance and demands capability, understanding, and independence.
Modern technology and artificial intelligence are incredible resources, and they will continue to transform our operational landscapes. But no amount of technology can replace wisdom, lived experience, pedagogical judgment, and the unique ability to weave raw ideas into a meaningful, life-changing learning progression. Those remain distinctly human strengths.
The Dual Fuel Rebuild exists because an educator applied those exact strengths to his own biology. It serves as a stark reminder that when teachers, coaches, and leaders focus their systemic expertise on a problem, extraordinary outcomes are not just possible—they are reproducible.
Education is powerful.
Curriculum is powerful.
And when world-class pedagogy is combined with lived experience and purposeful action, it doesn't just alter a lifestyle. It
changes a life.
